How to get Mimiron's head in World of Warcraft

Other methods of obtaining Mimiron's head
Flying mounts in World of Warcraft come in all shapes, sizes and forms. Most players start with a griffon or wyvern (depending on your faction and if you're not a druid) and then acquire more unique flying mounts as time goes on. Besides being a way to move faster, mounts can also have an element of prestige, especially if they come from a raid or high PvP quality.
Mimiron's head is an example of the former. While Yogg-Saron is much easier to kill than it used to be, it doesn't diminish the amount of time and effort players will have to put in to fly around the mechagnome's giant head.

Every race in World of Warcraft has a special hunting pet, but some are incredibly rare and hard to find.
How to get Mimiron's head in World of Warcraft
Mimiron's Head is a rare drop from Ulduar, a raid located on the northern edge of Storm Peaks, Northrend. While Mimiron's Head was once an exclusive 25-man difficulty drop for Ulduar, you can no longer choose your raid size since the Timewalking version was released a few years ago. There's also no heroic version of the raid, but there is a hard mode boss version that you'll need to complete to have even the slightest chance of Mimiron's head dropping.
Mimiron's head drops from Ulduar's final boss, Yogg-Saron. Unlike later raids, there are no skips here that allow you to go straight to Yogg-Saron, so you'll need to kill almost all the bosses first, except Razor Scales, Ignis the Furnace Master, and Algalon.
If you defeat the four Guardians (Hodir, Mimiron, Freya, and Torim), they will appear in the Watch Ring. Don't ask for their help against Yogg-Saronas this will lock you out of the brutal version of the Yogg-Saron battle where Mimiron's head falls out. If you're not familiar with Ulduar, here are a few things to keep in mind while raiding.
Passage of Ulduar
The first appointment requires the use of a vehicle. At level 70+ you can ignore all of this and just go to the trash mobs at the end to start the Flame Leviathan encounter. however, unless you use one of the destroyers to destroy at least one of the pillars, you won't be able to get loot from the Flame Leviathan. If you destroy at least one of the pillars, you can exit the Destroyer and continue. Alternatively, you can go back and grab one of the bikes and use it to get to the Flame Leviathan.
After you destroy the Flame Leviathan, go straight to XT-002. To the left and right are two optional bosses. You don't need to kill them if your goal is to try and get Mimiron's head. Kill XT-002 and use the teleporter to go to Ulduar Hall. At the stairs, go left and kill the iron assembly.
Return to the stairs, kill Kalagarn and cross the chasm to reach the Watch Ring. From there, defeat Hodir, Mimiron, Freya, and Thorim to open the Ancient Gate of the Guardians on the Watch Ring, which leads down to the final two bosses: General Vezax and Yogg-Saron.
For Yogg-Saron, approach Sarah to start the encounter. When the Yogg-Saron guards appear, kill them directly below Sarah to damage her. Once she reaches one HP, the second phase will begin. Yogg-Saron will appear and you will be grabbed by his tentacles. Use AoE to kill the tentacles, kill the other tentacles, and then wait for the portals to appear around Yogg-Saron. Enter one of the portals and you will be taken to one of three memories:
- Aspects that create a dragon's soul
- Assassination of King Llein Wrynn
- The Lich King tries to transform Bolvar Fordragon
Each memory will have a bunch of neutral mobs. You must kill them all quickly to open a chamber that leads to a large transparent brain. Do as much brain damage as possible to advance to the final phase of this fight.
When the brain finishes casting Invoke Madness, use the portal to exit this chamber. Being in the brain room after the spell ends will make you control your mind. If you are solo it will kill you instantly.
If enough damage is done to the brain, you will automatically teleport. Turn around, kill Yogg-Saron and you can loot the chest that will appear near the door. If you're lucky, and if you're fighting on hard mode (without guardians helping you), it will have a Mimiron head in it. If not, there's always next week, as Ulduar can be farmed once per week per character.
Other methods of obtaining Mimiron's head
Mimiron's head can also be purchased from the Black Market auction house. Rare mounts will periodically go up for sale there, and they also have a chance to end up in the Black Market's unwanted bin. The contents of this box are random, so keep that in mind if you're putting a lot of gold into it in hopes that something good will be in there.
In addition, you also have a chance to get the Head of Mimiron and the Invincible from the box you get after completing Ulduar the Time-Walker's quest during the week when Wrath of the Lich King Time walking is active.
