Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered allows fans to revisit both of these classic games, but both have elements that make them unique from one another. Glyphs are one such mechanic. Glyphs are a feature in the original Soul stealer which allows players to harness immense power and then unleash it.
A whole new set of glyphs was planned Soul stealer 2but the decision to include them was finally reversed. Although they are fun to use, only one of them is needed to complete the game, the Spirit Glyph.

How to get every glyph in Soul Reaver
When players start the game, they will only have one glyph available. This glyph will allow them to switch between the spectral form and the material plane. Shifting into the Spectral Realm can be done at any time, but shifting to the Material Plane is a different story. Before players can enter the material plane, they will need to find specially marked locations on the map while in the Spectral Realm and be at full health.

Spiritual glyph |
Moves Raziel between the spectral form and the material plane. |
Available at the beginning of the game. |
Glyph of strength |
Pushes back all enemies with its effect. Great for when a player feels overwhelmed. |
After you kill Melchiah, go back to the first water room. Jump down to enter the Spectral Realm. Go through the gate using your new power and follow the path up to find a giant face in the wall along with 3 obelisks. Move all three obelisks to trigger a cutscene that reveals the Glyph of Force. |
Stone glyph |
Stuns all enemies in range. |
Return to Melchia's domain using the gate to fast travel. After exiting the gate, you can jump into the water to return to the Spectral Realm. Go forward along the path and you will see a ledge that you will need to high jump to. After this ledge will be a place that you can use to return to the material plane. Move here and then climb the wall using your gift to defeat Zephon. Follow this path, killing Melchia's relatives and solving the block puzzle at the end to find the Glyph Statue to get the Stone Glyph. |
Sound glyph |
This glyph will injure and stun all your enemies within effective range. |
This glyph can be obtained after you can fire projectiles. From the entrance to the Silent Cathedral, turn right and follow the path to find a pair of large wooden doors. Make your way through this door and up to a room with large pipes that spiral after your shift. This will be the room before the puzzle with all the murals. Jump down and follow the path until you see a large white glass. Destroy it with a projectile, then climb up the wall to the opening you just made. Head to the far side of the next room and climb the wall to find a sound glyph symbol. Do a series of dashes and jumps until you reach another white glass that can be broken. Behind this window will be a large bell that you can ring, but you'll need its hammer. The hammer can be found opposite the wall you climbed to reach the Sonic Glyph. Now that you know where the bell is, you can drop the hammer to deliver it to the room and then pick it up to ring the bell. This will open the sound glyph. |
Fire Glyph |
With the power of the Fire Glyph, Raziel can instantly incinerate vampires and humans alike. |
After the player defeats Rahab, he will gain the ability to swim in water. Players will need to go back to the room they broke the stained glass window in to get out. Players will then swim down and use their projectiles to break the submerged stained glass window. This will lead them to a room filled with sacks of vampire eggs. Players will see a ray of sunlight coming from one of the arches. Go through it and keep going up until you are in a large room. Go straight, moving up and through the archway straight ahead. However, players would benefit from getting a Fire Reaver first in this zone. You will end up in a room that you can pop out of, but not pop out of. Instead, turn right and go through another submerged archway. Follow this path and you'll find a pillar with a glyph symbol. Exit this room and you'll see a wooden door on one side and an open archway on the other. Both of them have a number of enemies and weirdos. Defeat the enemies and turn all the levers to access the room with the fire glyph statue. |
Glyph of sunlight |
This is the most powerful glyph in Raziel's arsenal. Able to incinerate every lesser vampiric enemy in the game, while being harmless to humans. |
Return to the Silent Cathedral once more, but this time don't go inside. Instead, look to the right of the entrance to see a gate submerged in water. Swim along this path to discover several underground caves with lighthouses. Beacons will turn on when all mechanisms are activated. Enemies like to hide around corners, so be alert. Follow the light to the glass triangle to find a door underneath. You will find a wall with a triangle that the light falls on before leaving. Enter the Spectral Realm the moment the light touches it to reveal the Sunlight Glyph. |
Water glyph |
This glyph works similarly to the fire glyph, except that its effects do not affect humans or Rahab's lineage. |
Head back to the Lake of the Dead as you make your way to defeat Duma. You will need to high jump while in the water to reach the ledge to reach it. However, there is a path to the left that will take you to the Human Citadel. There are a few people here that you shouldn't kill. If you do, they will become hostile towards you. There are various blocks that you will need to move in order to raise the water high enough to reach the final glyph statue. |
