Throne and Liberty: A Beginner's Guide to Building a Crossbow
Want to pick up a crossbow from Throne and Liberty? Here's how to prepare and use a weapon type.
You can walk away from almost any decision you make without fear, and it's really rewarding to try new things to see what kind of build you can come up with. One weapon combo that works extremely well and is able to contribute to tanking, healing, and damage is a greatsword, staff, and tome combo.
Basics
This build is based on the base three separate things:
There are subtleties to this that require the use of special mechanics, e.g Curse, Vampire contractand much more, but all three of these ideas work together this is what allows this design to thrive. If you don't use all three of these things at the same time, it's a build about to fall flat on its faceespecially if you try to tank with it.
Statistics priority
Strength will be yours priority number one. Strength increases your health and improves weapon damageand both of these will be vital to the good performance of this build.
Wisdom and Dexterity can then be prioritized in any order. Wisdom helps your mana situation and Dexterity helps your damage.
While this build is capable strengthening your own health and healing without itit is from Vampire contract and Curse that it becomes capable of great things. Vampiric Contract is a Wand And Tome passive skill that heals allies for the damage they take the enemy you cursed. When playing solo it is heals you instead for the damage you deal to a cursed enemy.
Either way, it delivers
an astronomical amount of healing
especially if you invest in
Vampiric Contract update
.
It allows you to customize more or less any content you would like as well fits easily into any group combination. While the build is below especially suitable for tanksit can be adjusted any direction to provide a slightly larger focus of damage or healing. Even with this particular setup, this build will do a lot of damageand provide a significant amount of healing.

Skills and specializations
Many players feel that Sword and Shield are absolutely necessary for tank builds because they are the only weapons with a skill that can provoke. While provoking extremely convenient for Sword and Shield and provides the easiest path to aggro, the greatsword is also capable of causing aggression (aggro).just with a a little more effort and deepening in skill specialization.
These are active skills that this build uses. Feel free to mess around and experiment with it, but it provides a a healthy balance of different mechanics needed to help him succeed.

Mastery |
Description |
---|---|
|
Restores your (Solo) or ally (party) health as a percentage of the damage they deal to the enemy you cursed. This is a non-negotiable skill for this build. |
|
this increases the duration of the curse and there is a chance that the opponent will get the Curse in the first place going to make this build a little more consistent. |
|
Increases your healing skill by a percentage of your maximum mana. This is not an extraordinary increase, but over time it increases, and any additional treatment is good treatment. |
|
Improved healing and skill cooldown during the day, and improves the cooldown of DoT and Curse skills especially at night. Either way, it helps this build run more smoothly. |
|
Increases all hit chances, increasing skill lossand Chance of stun for every 100 max health you have. So you will have astronomically high health this increase will be substantial. |
|
this gives you a chance to raise your defense when you take damageand can be threefold. More defense means you take less damage and you'll be getting hit all the time. It will matter. |
|
Damage Mastery is going to provide Victor's Morale heals you a small amountand restores a small amount of mana. It's not much, but some is better than nothing, and again, it will add up over time. |
|
It will be increase your maximum health and regen of health significantly, especially if you have updated it. There's no reason not to run it; this will help you live longer. |
Ways of owning weapons
Weapon Mastery allows you to improve the passive effects of your weaponsbut these effects only apply to weapons currently equipped. If you automatically attack with a large sword, your Wand and Tome weapon mastery effects will not apply.
but, when you activate the skill of Joel and Tom, it's a weapon in your hand, and at that moment, the effects of wielding the Wand and Tome weapons apply. Because of this, both weapon mastery trees are still relevantdespite the fact that the Greatsword Weapon Mastery will be active more than half the time.
A great sword
in general Charge tree in Greatsword Weapon Mastery this is where you'll get the biggest difference with this build. This industry benefits you defense, evasion, max health and recovery speedand all of this will help you stay alive longer.
However, if you push this build in a slightly different direction, any of these fields are viable. Both the Incapacitate and Face Off branches will increase your damage a little more, and if that's what you're looking for, this is the way to go.
Wand and tome
The wand and tome weapon mastery path is a slightly tougher race, but for most players with this build The recovery tree will bring you the most positive returns. This is mine additional defense, evasion and healing skillsamong some other nice bonuses.
But there are two other branches both are quite goodas well as The To weaken the branch goes further increase the duration of the cursealong with your ability to debuff enemies more generally. The damage the tree does exactly what it sounds like and allows you to deal extra damage.
