How to beat Dark Link in Echoes Of Wisdom

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of WisdomAs with any game in the beloved series, there are plenty of boss battles to conquer. But unlike Link, Zelda doesn't always have access to a sword in her solo adventure to fend off giant monsters.

When it comes to her first battle against Dark Link in the Stilt Forest of Sathorn, she has only a few responses to her name to protect herself. But with the right strategy, it's not that hard to come out victorious and get a couple of brand new powers for your troubles.

Dark Link Fight Review

As the first major boss battle Zelda faced in Echoes of Wisdom, Dark Link is a bit of a transition. But if you can't avoid his mix of basic and spin attacks, you can chip away at your limited hearts very quickly.

Do your best to stay above the link by jumping on the collection of rocks located on either side of the roombecause if he doesn't perform a jump attack, he won't be able to catch you. A litany of pots also surround the edges of the arena, which will offer hearts if you need healing.

Spinning with the “R” button is also an effective way to increase the distance between Zelda and Dark Link
since without a summoned echo for aggro damage, it will just come at you.

How to beat Dark Link

As soon as the fight starts, run straight to the long grass on the left so Link loses sight of you. Then head right behind him and summon Darknut. They attack quickly after spawning if you place them at the right angle and deal guaranteed damage. However, Link can take them down immediately, so don't be afraid to dash around him and spam echo calls until you need to retreat.

Some other handy echoes in this situation include the sea urchin, which can create a deadly path of obstacles for Link to navigate, and the caramel, which is great for getting his attention and giving Zelda a chance to recover.

After taking a certain amount of damage, Link will enter his second phase and take on a dark purple hue. In this form, he is more prone to jump and spin attacks, and has a higher movement speed and higher damage. The trick now is to defeat him without delay.

now hide in the grass again and repeat your previous tactics until Link finally bites the dust. He'll hunt you down if you're alone, so make sure there's constant offensive echoes around to draw out his aggression and damage.

You want to avoid summoning them right before Link also because he will deflect most attacks with his shield before killing your echo.

Rewards for defeating Dark Link

Once defeated, Link will drop out a sword that can then be picked up to learn Zelda's swordsman form. Activate it and cut through the sticky wall at the end of the room and proceed to the rest of the dungeon.

Next up is the Seismic Scree, which is a bit more difficult to conquer.
