In Sam Raimi's original, Peter Parker catches Mary Jane Watson's cafeteria tray and all the food items in the air Spider-Man the Insomniac film balances many things Marvel's Spider-Man 2. However, not every ingredient is Marvel's Spider-Man 2 lands back on the plate as neatly as it was placed there, and in the third act its narrative is bogged down until a whole symbiote invasion is thrown into the mix. Now, with everything the main sequel tried to build up in its campaign and side quests, it seems obvious that there aren't many villains that haven't been announced Marvel's Spider-Man 3.
Moreover, Marvel's Spider-Man 2The series of mini-games and rides at Coney Island was most likely a hint that the antagonists are not going to address in the next installments. There is no real threat Marvel's Spider-Man 3 only featuring established villains, but with at least the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Carnage, and Chameleon, it seems Insomniac wants to close out its network saga as an epic blockbuster. If there's any place at all for what Insomniac would have to introduce to many players for the first time, however, Swarm — or perhaps SWARM — already has as close a place as it gets.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Proves Why Spider-Man's Slayer Arc May Not Be Viable
Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-Man series has the potential to debut a lot of villains, but the spider-slayer might be a harder pill to swallow than others.
Emily-May's emphasis on bees seems too specific to be a coincidence in Marvel's Spider-Man 2
There's a lot to explore at the Emily May Foundation, but like the underwater and space exhibits at Oscorp in Miles Morales' flashback doesn't seem to have any glaring easter eggs or teasers to tell us how the origins of future villains might play out. Indeed, no effort was made to make the symbiote the substance that Oscorp found while exploring deep space; he just landed on Earth and Oscorp happened to locate him according to the context presented in the brief flashback. However, there's a good chance if Insomniac wants it Swarm could materialize thanks to the special focus on bees that Emily-May is showing players.
To be clear, nothing in this scene seems to clearly indicate that the Swarm was being teased

EMF experiments involving drone bees in an entomology lab never refer to anything more than the sustainability and regeneration goals of an eco- and tech-conscious start-up backed by Osborne funding. However, this is an extremely long lab series dedicated to bee images, and not one that players have the opportunity to experience on their own terms, such as feeding fish nearby, making it undoubtedly important beyond simply introducing players to one of the EMF mini-games that they will see later.
SWARM's story in Marvel's Spider-Man deserves to make its way into the game
The backstory of the Swarm source material as Fritz Von Meyer is obscure, if not confusing, and it certainly wouldn't be easy to turn it into something comparable to Marvel's Spider-Mannot to mention the supposed final entry in the series, where not much time will be given to any character that hasn't been revealed by now. However, it's not for lack of trying.
Assuming this sparse dialogue and the comic are still considered canon, SWARM actually already exists as a villain, and that should be enough for Marvel's Spider-Man 3 lean heavily on Emily May's old bee lab and include SWARM in the game's list of antagonists. SWARM's design for the comic is one of the most original and unusual aesthetics of any lesser-known villain adaptation, and it would be a shame not to see it in the game before Insomniac closes the book on Marvel's Spider-Man.
