The classic prestige system from past CoD titles is back Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Once your account reaches a certain level, you can reset its level to start the game again. This will unlock exclusive cosmetic rewards for multiplayer and zombies, and you'll be able to bypass multiple weapon cuts in subsequent Prestige cycles.

Black Ops 6 brings back the Last Stand perk, sort of
Hello darkness, my old friend…
There are a whopping ten Prestige ranks to complete and an additional 1000 levels if you manage to reach the maximum Prestige rank. Needless to say, this is an incredibly long grind that is designed for dedicated players. Let's dive into how Prestige works in Black Ops 6, how it differs from previous games, and some of the rewards you can expect.
How Prestige Works in Black Ops 6
Prestige in Black Ops 6, called “Classic Prestige” in the game, behaves the same as it did in CoD games before MW2019. When your multiplayer or zombie level reaches rank 55, you will be able to activate Prestige. This will reset your account rating and increase your Prestige score by one. This will give you an exclusive emblem next to your name along with unique cosmetic rewards.
You can get Prestige up to ten times in Black Ops 6. Once you reach Prestige 10, Master Prestige is unlocked.
Unlike Prestige in recent CoD titles, you will lose access to unlocked weapons, power-ups, achievement streaks and equipment once you gain Prestige; you will need to unlock everything again. There are some rewards you get from Prestiging that make the process a little less painful, but keep that in mind before you get down to business.
What resets when you gain prestige?
-
Weapons
-
Weapon add-ons, camos, and badges remain unlocked
-
-
benefits
-
Series of points
-
Field equipment and modernization
It should be noted that weapons retain their earned XP and cosmetics if you Prestigeso you don't have to re-unlock attachments or camos. The weapon itself will need to be unlocked again by leveling up, but all the experience you earn with that weapon is permanent and carries over between Prestige ranks. GobbleGums earned from Zombies will also remain usable.
Master Prestige
Once you reach Prestige 10, you will no longer be able to reset your account level. Instead, you will activate Master Prestige, a system that allows you to reach level 1000. Reaching this max level gives a unique cosmetic reward that Treyarch hasn't revealed. The Master Prestige effectively works as the Prestige system from MW2 and MW3. You won't lose access to anything in Master Prestige; it's a long-term grind.
Prestige rewards
Each time you raise your account prestige, you will receive three rewards:
- Permanent Unlock: You will receive an unlock token that can be used to permanently unlock any item. This can be used for weapons, power-ups and equipment.
- Prestige Cosmetics: A new emblem will appear next to your account name, and you'll unlock a unique skin or business card.
- Prestige Challenges: Each Prestige has a set of challenges that you can complete, awarding calling cards, animated loading screens, gum, and XP.
Each rank of Prestige increases the experience payouts for daily challenges. Be sure to complete them while grinding to Master Prestige 1,000.
The most notable reward here is this Permanent unlock token. A rank reset will give you one token that can be used to unlock any item that is normally locked by leveling up your account – weapons, power-ups, gear, etc. This unlock will no reset when you replay Prestige.
In addition to the tokens, you will also receive an exclusive Prestigious cosmetics from this grind. For example, Prestige 1 rewards a zombie-themed character skin, an account emblem, an animated loading screen, a Gobblegum pack, a weapon charm, and a sticker. These bonus rewards can be unlocked either in Prestige Challenges (similar to calling card challenges) or simply by leveling up.
