How can the tribes in Horizon 3 differ from Zero Dawn, Forbidden West

with Horizon Zero Dawn: Remastered and LEGO Horizon Adventures now complete and released, Guerrilla Games can now focus more of their attention on developing the untitled game Horizon Multiplayer game and Horizon 3. From 2022 The horizon is forbidden to the west and Burning Shores 2023 expansions, many players have come up with different predictions about how Horizon the trilogy may end. Aloy could travel across the Pacific to seek help from the advanced Quen Empire, or perhaps Silence could try to use old 21st century technology to try and defeat Nemesis. However, there is one aspect Horizon 3 Guerrilla could focus on how the old tribes react to past humanity instead of introducing new tribes.

Fans of the Horizon series may not have to wait long to see Aloy again, as the new title may be coming much sooner than many fans expected.

The exponential revival of old world knowledge in Horizon

Ever since Ted Pharo destroyed the intelligent subprogram APOLLO with Project: Zero Dawn thousands of years ago, humanity has remained in a relatively primitive state. While the ruins of 21st-century structures and giant robotic animals fill the post-apocalyptic landscapes, the lack of access to data from the old world has forced early civilizations to invent their own explanations of the world just as ancient humans did before our era. This led to isolationist Nora viewing the automatic protective link as the Allmother deity, while Karja viewed the sun as a sacred figure. Similarly, the lack of context for the ruins has led many tribes to identify robots and artificial intelligence as demonic figures who have punished their ancestors.

However, not every civilization remained in the dark. The ancient Quen obtained a treasure trove of early Focus devices, which gave them a little access to the knowledge of the old world that helped them develop a technologically advanced empire. The Tenakh, meanwhile, were able to learn about old military structures and strategies from ancient museum exhibits. Also, Oseram were able to repair some old technology, including the Las Vegas holographic displays, and use some of the old technology as inspiration for their own. Tribesmen can additionally find Focus devices scattered across the landscape and use them to access remaining active Old World facilities, such as Silence in Horizon Zero Dawn.

A potential plot thread of Old World lore in Horizon 3

During both Zero dawn and Forbidden WestAloy gained more and more of the factual knowledge of the old world through her focus, the lessons of Silence, and her genetic identity as a clone of Dr. Elizabeth Sobek, the creator of Project: Zero Dawn. By the end of c Forbidden WestAloy and her companions were able to retrieve a copy of APOLLO from the extraterrestrials, Far Zenith, and were able to merge its data with Project: Zero Dawn, which is controlled by AI GAIA. From there, Aloy's allies began to learn more about humanity's past, especially looking for ways to defeat the coming Nemesis. In the Burning Shores expansion, Arend plans to return to Ozeram to give them the Focus devices so they can prepare to fight Nemesis as well.

While Erend and Aloy's other friends are well-intentioned about giving their tribes access to ancient knowledge, this can create additional conflicts and obstacles with previously established tribes. Most post-apocalyptic civilizations operate in ways that have been established for hundreds of years, and perhaps not all of them will be happy to hear that their cultures have been wrong all along. Religious leaders in Utharu and Karja, such as the Sun Priests, may prove particularly resistant to accepting Old World knowledge, as it may threaten their status as power within their tribe if it is revealed that their deities are not holy figures at all.

How tribes can react to ancient knowledge in Horizon 3

Quinn may prove to be the most hostile to this discovery of information, as their society, while dedicated to recovering ancient knowledge, is authoritarian, with only government officials and nobles having access to old world data. They may directly oppose Aloy's efforts to educate the tribes, as it threatens the collapse of the Quen Empire's social hierarchy. On the other hand, Oseram and Tenakth may be more receptive to lore as it can help improve their technology, weapons, and battle tactics. While Aloy has proven herself time and time again to be a tribe in the Horizon series, she may still have some public bigotry to overcome Horizon 3 to gain the full support of the tribes in helping defeat Nemesis.
