Haki users of the weakest conqueror in one piece

Key conclusions

  • Not all characters in Haki the Conqueror are equally strong or ambitious. Characters like Dong Qinjiao show abilities but can be considered weaker users.
  • Exceptional willpower is a common trait among Conqueror's Haki users such as Portgas D. Ace and Roronoa Zoro.
  • Characters like Charlotte Katakuri are powerful but tempered by loyalty to their superiors.

Conqueror's Hacksotherwise known as Supreme King Haki, is one of the most powerful abilities in the One Piece. This is a rare form of Haki, unlike the other two that can be taught and learned by anyone, Conqueror's Haki is only available to a small number of influential people. Users can effectively assert their will to dominate others, which can be used in almost any form of combat.

These humanoid characters also come from different races in the One Piece series.

Although its exact origins are unclear, it seems to be constantly in the hands of people who are naturally ambitious and independently strong. Although not confirmed, there may be a hereditary aspect to it, as at least some of its users have parents or grandfathers who are also capable of this ability. This list deals with a naturally controversial topic the weakest users of Conqueror's Haki. Given that power naturally filters out weaker characters, even the supposed “weakest users” aren't all that weak in the grand scheme of things. Perhaps some of them may even prove themselves undeserving of that status as history continues.

1 Don Qingjiao

Retired Navy Commander Happo

One Piece Don Qingdiao fights against Lucy

  • Debut: Chapter 407 (Manga); Episode 632 (Anime)

Don Qingjiao was a pirate and leader of the Happo fleet who was known for his drill-like head. He was once able to fight the likes of Monkey D. Garp. However, their constant fighting has left Garp languishing in the don's mind. This caused Chinjiao to develop a grudge against Garp that spread to his family, namely Monkey D. Luffy. In a haki duel with a younger pirate, Qingjiao's head suffered an injury that returned it to its original form. As a result, he released his grudge against the Monkey Clan.

Qinjiao also fought against his grandson Sai after he decided to stop his enemy Baby 5 from committing suicide. Sai eventually bent Qinjiao's drill head, forcing the senior naval commander to give his grandson full control of the fleet. While it's understandable given that Chinjiao outclassed Sai, it also seems odd that he's happy to lose his drill head again. After Sai saw fit to serve under the grandson of his former enemy Qinjiao as part of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, he didn't seem to have any objections. Although Chindiao has shown himself to be quite a formidable figure, he is probably the weakest of the known Conqueror Haki users.

2 Portgas D. Ace

Commander of the 2nd division of the Whitebeard pirates

Portgas D. Ace of one part

  • Debut: Chapter 154 (Manga); Episode 91 (Anime)

Late ace had tremendous willpower, even as a child. His Conqueror's Haki knocked out the pirates before he even knew what the ability was. Gol D. Roger's son was the captain of his own team known as the Spades Pirates. Nevertheless, his ambitions were tested in the New World. Eventually, after being defeated by Whitebeard, Ace joined his team.

Despite their relative superiority as a skill, Devil Fruit users do not need another Devil Fruit user at all to guarantee their defeat.

By the time of One PieceAce was fully on board with being a division commander. Although his rank gave him some authority in the crew, his will was actually bent on the captain (who also had powers). Also, while he canonically possesses this power, his accidental Conqueror Haki burst in his youth was the only time he used this power in the main story.

3 Roronoa Zoro

Swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates

Roronoa Zoro, also known as
Credits: Toei Animation

  • Debut: Chapter 3 (Manga); Episode 1 (anime)

Zoro is perhaps one of the most ambitious pirates to act as a sub-captain. Despite this status, he recently discovered Conqueror's Haki and began using it to increase his physical strength. This is likely a result of his goal to become the strongest swordsman in the world combined with his own captain, Monkey D. Luffy's goal to become the Pirate King.

Although Zoro is one of the strongest pirates of the crew, he mainly focuses on fighting any antagonist's powerful underlings (often those with a sword) rather than shooting the main enemy (although he probably did it sometimes). Zoro still has a strong will and a refusal to lose, but his indomitable spirit seems to have been tempered by allowing his captain to take charge where he feels a captain should. That being said, Zoro has standards and he told Luffy that before. if he doesn't handle things properly, he won't be worthy of being called “captain”. However, he never followed through on these threats and remained loyal to Luffy from the day he joined his team.

4 Charlotte Katakuri

Minister oO Flour/Sweet Commander of The Big Mom Pirates

Charlotte Katakuri

  • Debut: Chapter 860 (Manga); Episode 825 (Anime)

Charlotte Katakuri is the son of Charlotte Linlin. He is the second most powerful pirate of his team, the Big Mom Pirates, with the sole exception of his captain and mother. Even in a crew filled with siblings of all ages, Katakuri stands out as one of the strongest fighters, always ready to go on the offensive. His skills were so outstanding that he was one of three officers to receive the title of Sweet Commander, along with his sister Smoothie and brother Cracker.

While Katakuri is certainly strong-willed, any ambitions of his own seem clouded by his ultimate loyalty to his mother. He seems perfectly content to simply follow her orders, proving that she ultimately has a higher will. Katakuri also lost a fair fight with Luffy as he noticed that his opponent's Haki was improving rapidly. While it's possible that a shift in the dynamic, including the presumed death of his mother, could cause the pirate to become ambitious, for now he's lost in both encounters of will presented to him, whether in combat or simply in the dynamic his team.

5 Eustace Kidd

Captain of the children's pirates

Eustace Kidd

  • Debut: Chapter 498 (Manga); Episode 392 (Anime)

Eustace Kidd shares the same ambition as his rival, Monkey D. Luffy: to become the Pirate King. However, his methods are completely different, and Kidd is oblivious to the consequences of his overly destructive behavior. After successfully defeating Big Mom with Trafalgar D. Water Law, Kid tries to go after another Pirate Emperor.

However, his overestimation of himself, along with his destructive tendencies, ultimately led to his defeat. Using his Haki to foresee the mass destruction that the freed Kid would cause, Shanks defeated the Kid himself while Dory and the Brogues destroyed his ship. This was achieved in part by Shanks using an attack derived from his superior Conqueror's Haki. After the Kid Pirates' ship was destroyed, it is unclear whether the entire crew perished or not. However, Kidd proved that his willpower back then was at least second to that of Shanks.
