Going from moth to flame

U Disney's Dreamlight Valleyyou'll often unlock new story quests by discovering new biomes. The second extension, A collection of short stories by Valecontinues this trend. As you gradually discover more areas, the story will unfold. Although your ultimate goal is to get Maleficent and Hades talking again, there are many obstacles standing between you and that goal. During the story quest “Moth to the Flame” you will have to deal with one such obstacle.

This walkthrough contains spoilers, proceed with caution.

Explore the Plains of Fire

Once you collect 5000 storybook magic, you can destroy the barrier that prevents you from entering the Fiery Plains. At this point you will start the A Moth To A Flame quest. The first thing you'll want to do before you start exploring the new area is to repair the Wishing Well so you can fast travel here later if you need to.

South of the Wishing Well, you'll see another entrance to the Trial, but it's blocked by an ethereal form of flame. Take a picture of the fire and then talk to Hades. It's not clear yet if this is a bug, but it may take a few tries at different angles to get a photo that will give you credit for this quest. If you're struggling, try taking a selfie with all the flames in the picture.

Hades explains what the problem is with the flames, but he has no idea how to get rid of them. Talk to the Keeper of Lore, who will tell you that she has a story that may provide information about where the Holy Well is. But to access it, you will need to collect the following:

• 10 Red Bird Fragments
• Five Pink Demon Fragments
• Two blue demon shards

Red Bird Snippets roam the Library of Knowledge. Pink Demon Shards can be found in the Champs Elysees and the Plains of Fire, while Blue Demon Shards are found in the Plains of Fire and the Haunted Keep. Fragments of blue demons appear in smaller numbers, and it takes several times more attempts to catch them than fragments of pink demons. When you manage to catch all the fragments, return to the Lorekeeper and select “I want to change the order of the stories!”.

How to complete the game “Aurora and the Holy Spring”.

After you open this story, you will have to solve a puzzle. This is a much more complex puzzle than the one you solved in the previous story quest, and there will be no lines to guide you where each piece goes. The first step is to place at least three pieces on the board in the right places. The image above represents a good place to start solving this puzzle.

The two parts are shaped like a royal watering can. Place one of them in the location pictured above. This fills up most of the board and makes it easier to see where certain pieces will go.

When you put all the pieces together, this is what the puzzle will look like. The solved puzzle gives a clue where the Holy Spring is located. Head to the Champs-Élysées and go to the left of the giant pool. There you will see a bunch of rose bushes. Approach and interact with them to find the Holy Spring. When you interact with the Holy Spring, a small vial of water will appear on the ground. Take it and then talk to Hades.

Collect the ingredients for the potion

Unfortunately, there is not enough water from the Holy Springs to deal with the flames. You will need to collect a few materials before you can proceed. In particular, you must collect:

• Five crimson everlasting poppies
• Three magmas
• Two hippocampus

Fortunately, if you already have some of these materials, they will count towards this quest. If you're missing any of these items, you can find them all in Mythopia. When fishing for hippocampus, focus on fishing with white ripples. When you have all the materials, go to the crafting table and make a potion from the watering can. Open your inventory and use a potion to improve your watering can.

With this upgrade, you'll have no trouble clearing the flames that block your path. Use the Royal Web to open a portal in the Mythic Trial. This completes the Moth to the Flame, and then begins the next story quest, Promethean Flame.
