‘Get a job’: ‘Weird’ detail in neighbour’s angry letter

A woman was shocked when she came home from work to find a passive-aggressive note on her door.

Even more surprising was that she thought it was written by a child.

A woman took a picture of a message The sun reports, posted it on Reddit and said she's had “issues” with her neighbors in the past.

“So this afternoon when I was going to work, I found this note on our door,” she explained.

“It's obviously written by a child, and if I had to guess, I'd say it's our downstairs neighbors. We've had problems with them before, like at Christmas.

“They would send their teenage daughter to keep us quiet when we entered our flat after 10.30pm. We don't do laundry after 9.30 or run the dishwasher. Just walk. The hours of silence in the community begin at 10 p.m.'

The angry note read: “Hi, this is a note to ask her to shut up. You are too (so) loud every day (so). It would be good to sleep at least once.”

“I don't know how a person can be so loud all the time, like, get a job,” he continued.

“I thought you had an elephant.”

The woman explained that she works part-time because of her restaurant job, and the same goes for her sister, a nurse, with whom she lives.

“I really feel like, except for the early/late walks, we don't really get a lot of noise,” she added.

“It's not even something we talk about because my sister and I are rarely home at the same time.”

The woman said her leasing office sent out an email reminding tenants that “walking noise is part of living in an apartment” and people should “deal with it.”

“My mom thinks I should bring it to the leasing office and let them deal with it,” she added.

“I don't know exactly who it was, so I'm not going to go to anybody's door and confront them.

“I just think it's so weird and DANGEROUS to send your kids to solve your problems with neighbors you don't know.”

People rushed to comment on the neighborhood dispute and express their suggestions.

“Thanks for the note, but please tell your parents to be grownups and not send their kid to do their dirty work,” said one.

However, one claimed: “I think it's an adult. People don't have writing skills, it's a keyboard world.”

“Put an elephant in your apartment and take a screenshot. Print it and attach it to the note,” said the third.

“Yes, we have an elephant! Her name is Lucy.”
