Genshin Impact reveals the full range of Ororon's abilities

Key conclusions

  • Ororon has unique abilities to probe and damage enemies with electrical effects.
  • Araron's Nightingale Synesthesia skill makes him valuable in a variety of team compositions.

Genshin Impact has released an official preview of Ororon, the upcoming 4-Star Electro character slated for release in the first half of v5.2. While Chasca is set to be the star of version 5.2, Genshin Impact players have been raving about Ororon since its debut in version 5.1. Hailing from the Masters of the Nightwind, Araron left a strong impression on fans during Archon Quest. Version 5.2 will not only take players to the Araron tribe in Western Natlan, but Araron himself will play a major role during the patch's Main Event.

In particular, Araron will be released as a playable character along with Chaska y Genshin Impactpointing to her event flag as a 4-star electric bow. What sets him apart from other electric supports is that Araron's damage is optimized specifically for reacting with electric charge. His elemental skill is not dissimilar to Baiju, jumping between multiple enemies, while his elemental blast summons a totem that attracts aggro and deals continuous electrical damage.

Genshin Impact reveals a new weapon coming in version 5.2

Genshin Impact has released a preview of four new weapons coming in 5.2, and some of them offer powerful bonuses for certain teams.

Named as Shadow of the Night Wind, Araron y Genshin Impact designed to provide research abilities for Ichthyomysaur. This will allow it to interact with Night Spirit Graffiti and Night Spirit Sigils, allowing the player to solve new puzzles in version 5.2 without having to rely on taking the form of Ictamisaur. Also, switching to Ororon while gliding will allow players to jump up in Natlan areas. This jump can also be invoked on the ground, after which Araron can aim his bow while in the air. Full details on the ability set were revealed to HoYoverse in a recent blog post.

A shot of a perfume vessel

  • Normal attack
    • Fires up to 3 shots in a row from the bow.
  • A charged attack
    • Performs a more accurate aimed shot with increased damage.
    • When aiming, the arrowhead will accumulate electricity. A fully charged arrow will deal Electro DMG.

The echo of dark voices

  • Summons Supersonic Oculus to continuously taunt nearby enemies and deal Nightsoul Electro related DMG.

Nightshade Synesthesia

  • For 15 seconds after using his elemental skill, when other party members' Hydro or Electro attacks hit opponents, Araron will gain 5 points of Nightsoul, an effect that can occur every 0.3 seconds for a maximum of 10 times during those 15 seconds.
  • Ororon can have a maximum of 80 Nightsoul points.
  • When nearby enemies take Charge DMG or Nightsoul-aligned DMG from other nearby characters, Araron consumes 10 points of Nightsoul, entering Nightsoul's Blessing and triggering the Hypersense effect.
    • Inflict Electro DMG according to Nightsoul based on Araron's 160% ATK to up to 4 nearby enemies. Hypersense can trigger every 1.8s.

As an electrobow off the field, players are quick to compare the Ororon to the Fischl – perhaps with good reason, as both fill the same character role. However, Araron has some features that make it preferable Genshin Impact teams, and key among them is Nightshade Synesthesia. Nightshade Synesthesia allows Araron to accumulate Nightsoul points for each instance of electro or hydrouron inflicted by other party members. It spends Nightsoul points when Electro-Charged reacts, dealing additional Electric damage that lowers its ATK.

Nightshade Synesthesia makes Araron extremely valuable to Neovilleth when he runs with Kazuha and Xylonen, but he can also contribute significantly to Mualani, Ayato, or Tartaglia teams. While it remains to be seen if he will boost his electric charge response to the same degree as the overload that Chevrez boosted, he is expected to garner a lot of attention as a 4-star character in Genshin Impact. Players will be able to use Ororon during the first half of version 5.2, which is scheduled to launch on November 20, 2024.
