Female Genshin Impact Characters With Best Designs

Previously, Genshin Impact units wore either European or Chinese-inspired outfits. Now, with the release of Inazuma in version 2.0, players are also indulged with Japanese-influenced styles. With the new region, Sumeru, approaching quickly, Travelers can soon expect designs from Middle Eastern/South Asian cultures.

Genshin Impact is filled with greatly-composed characters, meant to induce its players to pull on their respective banners. However, of course, among the game’s many beautiful units, some are better than others. For the female characters of Genshin Impact, these designs are often chosen as fan favorites.

Updated on October 30, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: Each character in Genshin Impact has a unique style of their own, and some are more eye-catching than others. Female characters in particular are portrayed at a high level of detail that is aligned with their personality. While there are characters that appear soft and friendly, wearing soft colors like baby pink and light blue, other female characters give off a dangerous and threatening aura by wearing bold colors like red and black which reflect well in their fashion choices.

17 Chiori

Boss Of The Chioriya Boutique

Since Chiori is the one running the Chioriya Boutique in Inazuma, it’s not that weird to find her outfit captivating, as she must draw attention to increase her shop’s popularity. As Inazuma is a Japanese-influenced region, Chiori sports a short-sleeved black and gold Kimono-shaped dress that reaches her knees. A red Obi is wrapped around her waist with an ornament in front and forming a flower at the back. Black sleeves and tights can also be seen on her figure alongside red cantilevered heels tied with red ribbons and black straps on her feet.

What completes Chiori’s outfit in Genshin Impact is her hairstyle, as it’s tied in a flower-shaped bun, and some of the leftover hair is curled and styled as a side ponytail. As for hair accessories, she puts a flower on her bun and a red hairpin with another flower on the side of her head.

16 Xianyun

Better Known As “Cloud Retainer”

As Xianyun is already considered a tall character in Genshin Impact, she is even taller in her Cloud Retainer form. But in human form, there are aspects that are similar to her adeptus form. Xianyun has long luscious midnight black hair with jade green highlights and bangs that is tied in a high ponytail and pinned at the top with a hairpin that resembles the crest or the crown of Cloud Retainer. She also wears glasses that are removed during one of her idle animations, showcasing her bare face.

Outfit-wise, Xianyun wears a side-cut black bodysuit underneath a low-cut, open-back, long version of a Cheongsam that has slits on each side reaching her waist. She also has what appears to be a cape sleeve colored jade green that warps around her shoulders. From there, the cape sleeve spreads to her back to mimic the feathery wings of the Cloud Retainer.

15 Kokomi

Divine Priestess Of Watatsumi Island

Sangonomiya Kokomi is the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi. As the leader of the island, she certainly has to put up a majestic appearance, one that represents the authenticity of the region. Upon setting eyes on Kokomi, people can immediately see her resemblance with the coral island.

With the combination of salmon pink and navy blue color scheme, her design pretty much screams “Watatsumi”. Her clothing is decorated with items that mimic oceanic items like corals and pearls. As she hails from Inazuma, Sangonomiya Kokomi uses a kimono-like outfit, paired with a low-cut suit underneath.

14 Yoimiya

Owner Of Naganohara Fireworks

While she may not be the best unit in Genshin Impact, Yoimiya certainly has a friendly design. Like other Inazuman characters, she’s also wearing a kimono, but the outfit is only worn on her left side, while the right part is draped around her shoulder and waist. Under the kimono, Yoimiya utilizes sarashi to cover up. This white cloth is also wrapped around her left forearm and right thigh.

As she wields the Pyro Vision, Yoimiya’s palette consists of red and orange, from the character’s kimono to her red flower tattoo, golden eyes, and light strawberry blonde hair.

13 Beidou

Captain Of The Crux Fleet

The Captain of the Crux Fleet looks way too fabulous to be a sailor. Her dark-brown hair falls down to her waist, passing through the Electro Vision chained under her chest. Unlike typical characters that can manipulate the thunder, Beidou’s outfit has a red scheme.

Beidou wears a qipao-like sleeveless dress, fur-lined red shawl, and fingerless gloves that extend to her elbows. Her hair is decorated with a golden pin with a blue tassel hanging on its end. This same tassel is worn as an earring on Beidou’s left side, next to her red eyepatch.

12 Keqing

Yuheng Of The Liyue Qixing

A massive contrast to Beidou, this Electro unit’s design is dominated by purple. Keqing’s hair is light purple, tied into twin-tails. On top of her head, Keqing styles her buns to mimic cat ears (which is likely her most distinctive feature). Even though many people consider it old-fashioned, she proudly wears a large golden hairpin on the left side of her head.

Like Keqing’s whole palette, the Yuheng’s eyes are amethyst, decorated with diamond-shaped pupils. Keqing uses a lavender overcoat that covers her purple-white dress. She accessorizes this outer layer with white flowers and purple feathers.

11 Ningguang

Lady Of The Jade Chamber

As the leader of Liyue, Ningguang certainly looks the part. Like Beidou, the Tianquan also wears a qipao-like sleeveless dress. It is golden and marked with intricate embroidery. Ningguang’s hair falls down to her knees, reaching almost as far as her dress itself.

Ningguang uses fingernail guards on both her left and right hands. This item dated back to the Qing dynasty, where it was a portrayal of one’s status. The uses of fingernail guards indicate that they do not have to use their hands (their subordinates do everything for them), and using them on both hands further emphasizes the power the wearer has. This detail is only fitting for Ningguang. After all, she is the richest person in Teyvat.

10 Ganyu

The Overworked Secretary

Ganyu is a half-Qilin, which are described as gentle and peaceful creatures that have very soft fur. The secretary of the Liyue Qixing is also an Adeptus who’s under a contract with the Geo Archon in Genshin Impact to protect Liyue and never harm it.

It’s impossible not to notice Ganyu with her fair skin that blends nicely with her pale blue hair which gradually becomes darker towards the end of her ponytail. The Adeptus also possesses two black-red goat-like horns on the top of her head thanks to her half-Qilin nature. As for Ganyu’s appearance, she sports a black catsuit with a halter top that shows her nice figure along with an alternative version of a traditional Qipao with separate long sleeves.

9 Shenhe

The One Raised By Cloud Retainer

Shenhe captured the hearts of Genshin Impact fans the moment she was announced as a playable character. Her looks and outfit were enough to captivate and convince most people to pull for her, and her story quest is the icing on the cake.

Shenhe has long silver-white hair, which fades to black at the tip, her original hair color. Her outfit is dominated by a black bodysuit, while the area between her neck and breast is covered by a cropped dress. Throughout Shenhe’s body, strikes some bright red ropes, the item meant to shake her homicidal urges.

8 *Nahida

Lesser Lord Kusanali

Nahida is the Archon of the Land of Wisdom, Sumeru, known as Lesser Lord Kusanali. She is considered very short but can be immensely adorable with her know-it-all tone and big mesmerizing green eyes. The Archon has white hair braided from one side and held up in a side ponytail on the other side with pointy ears pointed down.

Sumeru’s Archon wears a white dress that’s slightly off the shoulder and opens up to resemble a flower near her knees. The outfit is decorated with various gems and ornaments and on the back there’s a green cape split into several parts. The simplicity of the dress matches well with the golden bangle on her right hand and the golden accessories on her ankles.

7 *Furina

The Hydro Archon

As the Archon of Justice and a flare for drama, Furina’s appearance is the perfect example of how dramatic she can be. Furina wears a dark blue coat that’s a lot longer in the back, taking the shape of many elegant layers of frills. A bow is tied on her back as well as on her waist, where she keeps her Vision.

A gold ornament near the wrists cuffs her sleeves and the rest of each sleeve continues in frills. Furina wears shorts with a black garter on each thigh holding a blue gem. There are two forms of the Archon of Justice, Ousia and Pneuma. The first makes the character wear black shorts and cut her hair short, while the latter makes her wear white under the blue coat and there is a long low ponytail beneath her bob cut hair.

6 Navia

President Of The Spina Di Rosula

As the president, leader, boss, and commander-in-chief of the Spina di Rosula, Navia needs to look the part as she shoulders a lot of responsibilities. She has fair white skin that blends nicely with her black and yellow outfit. Navia wears a blue corset with white ruffles and gold accessories alongside a white mini-skirt. There are two gear accessories on each side of her hips that act as pins for the multi-layered skirt that splits into two at the back.

Navia seems to be wearing black sleeves that are puffy near the shoulders and tight towards the end with one hand sporting a glove. The black high heels and thigh-high boots with bows at the ankles compliment the outfit nicely. As a final touch, Navia has a decorated black hat sitting sideways on top of her head, which is a nice contrast to her blond locks that are tied by a black bow forming four individual curls at the back and two small curls on each side of her head.

5 *Arlecchino

Director Of The House Of The Hearth

As Arlecchino is the 4th Harbinger in Genshin Impact and the House of the Hearth manager, she must look the part. Her most prominent features are her X-shaped irises and her long two-toned hair tied in a low ponytail.

Arlecchino wears a grayish-white coat that’s short in the front and has two long tails in the back. The sleeves are fitted and spread out near the hands to become ruffles. Similarly, she wears tight black pants that spread out to shape an X at the ankles as well as red ruffles. The 4th Harbinger’s hands are colored black because of a curse, and she wears many rings on all her red-nailed fingers.

4 Nilou

Star Of Zubayr Theater

Nilou is a very talented dancer who works in the Zubayr Theater at the Grand Bazaar. Her kindness and beauty attract many onlookers as she enchants them with her fluid movements and lights up the stage with her captivating smile.

As a professional dancer, Nilou’s clothing must not restrict her movements which is why she is seen wearing something that resembles a Belly Dance Costume. Considering Nilou is from Sumeru in Genshin Impact, her top seems to be connected to a big collar necklace that’s very popular in Middle Eastern/South Asian cultures. Nilou completes the outfit with a high-low skirt that’s adorned with numerous tassels, ornaments, and gems that create a beautiful pattern when she dances. Her silky red hair is styled in low twin ponytails that are covered by a white-bluish veil sporting two black horns.

3 Signora

Crimson Witch Of Flame

La Signora is one of the most impressively-designed NPCs so far. Bearing the real name of Rosalyne-Kruzchka Lohefalter, this lady has been wronged for so long that her loyalty fully belongs to the Tsaritsa. This is likely why to the eyes of outsiders, Signora seems menacing and dangerous. Her red-black color scheme further emphasizes this sense of hazard.

However, beneath all these impressions lies meticulous details that easily relate to Signora’s name; Rosalyne, which could mean, “beautiful rose”. This characteristic can be seen on both sides of her hips, and at the back of her head, where two rose-shaped buns are tied.

2 Yae Miko

Guuji Of The Grand Narukami Shrine

Yae Miko is known throughout Inazuma by many titles such as the head of the Grand Narukami Shrine, the owner of Yae Publishing House, or the Electro Archon’s eternal familiar. Many players adore her thanks to her ethereal form and playful personality.

The Kitsune has long light pink hair that forms two fluffy ears at the top of her head which fits nicely with the golden hair accessory. Since Yae Miko hails from Inazuma which is heavily influenced by Japanese culture, she sports a unique-looking merge between a Hakama and a Haori tied with an Obi at the back, creating a stunning outfit that fits nicely with her figure.

1 Raiden Shogun

Ei, The Ruler of Inazuma

Among the currently-available female characters, Raiden Shogun takes the top spot for the best design. With her braided violet hair and a purple kimono that resembles the color of her nation, the Electro Archon looks majestic as the land of Inazuma itself.

From the Japanese influence of the region, Raiden Shogun’s outfit is decorated with several Mitsudomoe emblems. Travelers can spot them on the badge in front of her clothing, on a pauldron on her left shoulder, and of course, on the kimono itself. In Inazuma, this symbol represents the highest honor in the land.
