Explanation of legendary, mythic ZA mega-evolutions

As the Nintendo community continues to recover from the fallout from the recent Game Freak data leak, new potential details about the upcoming Pokemon Legends: ZA the game claims that some Legendary and Mythical Pokemon will receive brand new Mega Evolutions. The extent of the leaked content, believed to include extensive betas and unreleased Pokemon builds, source code for Pokemon Legends: ZA and 10 next-gen games, and even information about the closely guarded Nintendo Switch 2 or “Project Omnibus.” However, among those leaks was information about two new Mega Evolutions for two key Legendary and Mythical Pokemon.

The return of Mega Evolution was teased during Pokemon Legends: ZAtrailer announcement, but fans still didn't know if Mega Evolutions would return, if not all of them, or Pokemon Legends: Arceus the follow-ups will introduce never-before-seen Mega Evolutions. As long as before Legends: Z.A leaks have outlined several returning or all-new Mega Evolutions, such as those rumored for his starter Pokemon, the latest Teraleak has seemingly revealed potentially credible information about Mega Evolutions for Zygarde and Zeraora. As Game Freak confirms the leak, these new revelations could provide new insight into what's to come Legends: Z.A.

Relatives

After Pokemon Legends: ZA, there are two other “third version” areas worth exploring.

Pokemon Legends: ZA seems to serve as the “Z” for Pokemon X and Y ten years later, and if that's the case, two more ideas should be coming.

Pokemon Legends: Mega Evolution Leak Details by ZA

While Game Freak's breach was significant, the specific leaks are concerning Pokemon Legends: ZAThe new Mega Evolutions are unfortunately limited to just one tweet out of many from Centro Leaks on X. The find was attributed to fellow X user Mootmonthly, who discovered content potentially confirming Mega Zygarde and Mega Zeraora, with the former allegedly even appearing on some dot in Pokemon anime. However, unlike similar leaks for beta or unreleased Pokemon, it doesn't appear that there are any potential designs for these Legendary and Mythical Pokemon yet, and no other information about potential stats or type changes.

Possible reveals from Pokemon Legends: ZA's Mega Evolution Leak

Between the game's namesake and the chosen setting of Lumiose City in Colossus, it seemed inevitable that the third member Pokemon X and IThe legendary trio, Zygarde, will Legends: Z.APokemon mascot. While recent leaks support this theory, the inclusion of Zeraora was initially unexpected, though potentially self-explanatory when linking the beginning and end of his title to the game's “ZA” moniker. However, until now Zygarde and Zeraora have had few connections other than both appearing in Pokemon Ultra Sun and The moonwhich could mean Legends: Z.A will build new connections between Pokemon Gen 7 and Gen 6 Mythic and Legendary Pokemon.

However, the return of Zeraora with the new Mega Evolution could happen in parallel Legends: Arceus' introduction of Enamorus as the fourth force-of-nature member of the Gen 5 Legendary Pokemon trio, especially since the rumored anime-only appearance of Mega Zygarde sets it apart from the pair. Moreover, with Zygarde's 10%, 50%, and Complete forms already in place, and the stronger connection to the Kalos Gen 6 region, it seems that the focus Pokemon Legends: ZAZygarde Talisman, not Zeraora. But if true, it could signal the return of the short-lived gimmick last seen in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha sapphire.

Potential return of primal reversion in Pokemon Legends: ZA

Pokemon Zygarde Groudon Kyogre Primal Reversion

The debut of the Primal Reversion feature helped Omega Ruby and Alpha sapphire upped the Mega Evolution ante when it came to Gen 3 remakes. But like the Mega Evolutions, Primal Reversion was missing from the mainline Pokemon since then, despite its popularity among fans and appearing in additional games such as Pokemon Go. However, similar to the legendary Pokémon Groudon and Kyogre, the new leaked Mega Zygard could potentially be the new Primal Reversion, and this Mega form plays a key role in Legends: Z.Alarger story and world building.
