Gojo Satoru, face JJKwas quite easily one of the most powerful characters in history. Fans met Gojo at the very beginning and openly declared him the strongest. The fans took Gojo's words very seriously after his performance against Jogo was shown and he was overwhelmingly favored. His skill was absolutely impeccable, and there was no denying the fact that he was a generational genius, the likes of which could only be seen once every thousand years or so.
Relatives
Kaisen Jiu-Jutsu: Gege explains Gojo's relationship with his parents
Gojo's parents are not actually seen in JJK. Gege reveals Gojo's relationship with them.
However, Gojo's time officially ended after he fought against Sukuna in a heroic battle and ended up dying. Now there is a power vacuum in the government JJK the world, and someone else must arise. Fortunately, the author has teased some characters to take on his role in the future, and it remains to be seen who will take on that responsibility properly.
Gojo's death in JJK was shocking to all fans
- Gojo and Sukuna finally face off in the Shinjuku showdown arc
- Gojo met his end in this battle
Gojo eventually died in battle against Sukuna after a thrilling battle. As fans know, Gojo was sealed away with the Prison Realm during the series' Shibuya Incident Arc. After that, the cast set about freeing Gojo, and in the Culling Game Arc, it finally happened. Thanks to the incredible efforts of the sorcerers, Gojo was eventually freed and he returned in quite style. Immediately after his return, a battle was set up with Sukuna, and by this time the latter had captured Megumi's body. Gojo vs. Sukuna took place a month later, and this battle was truly the pinnacle of the entire series. Even though these sorcerers were equally defeated, Gojō was far more impressive in battle, and this comes from the fact that he was actually fighting not only against Sukuna's shrine, but Megumi's 10 shadows as well. In fact, both of these techniques are strong enough to match Gojo and his Limitless individually, as he confirmed.
Goodbye Gojo Satoru! I will never forget you as long as you live. – Sukuna
When Sukuna combined the incredible power of his temple with the 10 Shadow Technique, Gojo was naturally on the back foot. But despitethis, Gojo actually did incredibly well in this fight and pinned Sukuna against the wall, coming incredibly close to killing him. In fact, the only reason Sukuna didn't die in the battle against Gojo after the powerful Remote Purple was because the author wanted him to live and continue fighting against other mages.
Gojo was a plot device in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc and he would never have been able to beat Sukuna because otherwise the story would have meant absolutely nothing to the likes of Yuji Itadori. Yuji is the main character and had to defeat the Curse King on his own. That's why Gojo ended up dead and Sukuna emerged victorious. In JJK chapter 236, Sukuna used the World Splitting Dismantle and sliced Gojo in half, effectively ending his life.
Why several people can become the next Gojo
Yuji, Yuta, and others can become the next Gojo
With Gojo's death, a power vacuum was created in the world JJK. At the end of the day, Gojo was the strongest mage of the day, and the rest of the JJK sorcerers combined couldn't match him. Naturally, Gojo's death left a huge hole for the wizards to fill, and even now there's no definite answer as to who the next Gojo is. The answer to the question is quite complicated. The fact is that there is currently no character as strong as Gojo who can effectively fill this position. But there are definitely people with a lot of potential who can fill this role in the future of the series. In fact, there are quite a few who can do it.
Look for a different power than mine. – Gojo
The first character that fans know can fulfill this duty by becoming the strongest is none other than Yuta Okotsu. Yuta already captured Gojo's body during the Shinjuku Showdown Arc, and it was definitely a sight to behold for the fans. While it didn't end up contributing much to the plot and didn't do anything the writer couldn't have handled in other ways, it was still interesting for fans to see. Yuta has immense power, and his connection to Gojo, as well as the fact that they shared the same ancestors, certainly lends a level of realism to the idea that he could be the next Gojo. Yuta understands better than anyone else the burden that Gojo carried and is willing to make the same sacrifice to become the strongest as well. He has the tools to do so and will only need to refine his techniques in the future to qualify for the position.

Jiu-jutsu Kaisen: Gege reveals the strongest physically
Gege reveals who is at the pinnacle of physical strength in JJK. That's who it is.
Similarly, Yuji can also become the next Gojo. Fans do not Yuji to have enough potential to match the likes of Sukuna. But Yuji is still a work in progress. He still needs to strengthen himself drastically if he wants to take on the strongest current mage in battle, and that's true. Although Yuuji defeated Sukuna in the Shinjuku Arc, he was not strong enough to do it on his own, and even his control over his techniques was quite weak. Yuuji must drastically improve his cursed techniques such as the Shrine while also gaining a better understanding of powers such as Blood Manipulation. He needs to improve his use of the Reverse Curse technique and learn more barrier techniques and domain countering techniques such as domain amplification as well as other forms of this power.
First of all, Yuji needs to expand his arsenal incredibly, and most of all he needs to increase his efficiency in all of these arts. Yuuji has the potential to match Sukuna one day, but it will definitely take him a lot longer to actually do so.
Another person Gege has openly labeled as a talent on the same level as Gojo is none other than Hiromi Higuruma. He's a newly awakened sorcerer who reached unprecedented heights in the Shinjuku Showdown arc. Higuruma is a true genius and has been compared to Gojo many times. In fact, even Sukuna ended up paying him respect before cutting him down, which just goes to show the level he really was. In 2 months, Higuruma had achieved what magicians couldn't achieve in a lifetime, and it was true. More recently, Gege commented on how he wanted people to think of Higuruma as a true genius, and he certainly gave that feeling away when he learned techniques such as domain strengthening, the reverse curse technique, domain expansion, and many other advanced abilities such as walking in air for 2 months. Higuruma is still alive and looking to become stronger than ever before and potentially become the next Gojo.
There are obviously many candidates for the position of next in power to JJK, and Yuta, at this point, seems like the most likely answer, given that he is much more experienced and stronger than the others. But in terms of potential, the likes of Higuruma and Yuuji could eventually overshadow him.
The final chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, JJK 271, was finally released on September 29, 2024. Fans can read the series on Manga Plus and Shonen Jump.
