Disney has several movies planned for next year from all the properties under its umbrella. however, Disney's Dreamlight Valley still focused on Disney Animation Studios and Pixar when choosing characters to add to its roster. Because of this, it would not be surprising if Disney's Dreamlight Valley looked at the upcoming films from these studios, especially when considering character additions.
While some Disney fans are confused by the number of sequels or additions to the franchise that Disney releases, this means great news for Disney Dreamlight Valley. Instead of adding entirely new stories to the game, Disney's Dreamlight Valley could hypothetically expand existing characters and franchises in the game. Such is the case with Disney Animation Studios' latest release, Moana 2.

One upcoming movie could push Disney's Dreamlight Valley to break with a tradition it's followed for years
Disney's Dreamlight Valley has traditionally added characters from Disney Animation Studios and Pixar, but one upcoming film could change that
Moana 2 could expand the franchise's role in Disney's Dreamlight Valley
Moana 2 takes place three years after the first film. In the upcoming sequel, Moana will be reunited with Maui when she accepts an unexpected challenge from her ancestors. With a new crew, Moana and Maui embark on a journey across the seas of Oceania to lift the curse on the island of Motufetu, placed by a god named Nalo. The film will expand the Moana mythology with complex new villains and songs from Barlow and Bear The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical fame, not Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Both Moana and Maui are characters Disney Dreamlight Valley. The film, now a franchise, has proven itself well in the game, both with the characters and their storylines, as well as with the motifs, furniture and objects. It's even one of the few franchises that has its own realm.
Disney's Dreamlight Valley expanded the movies and franchises it previously added to the game. For example, the Jungle Getaway update added Timon and Pumbaa with The Lion King as in-game characters, despite Simba and Nala being added in a previous update. This shows that Disney's Dreamlight Valley not afraid of doubling the representation.
Gameloft and Disney could easily repeat this move for Moana 2adding not only new motifs, furniture and other items based on the film, but even new characters. The film's secondary antagonist, Matangi, has been teased as a formidable foe that Moana and her allies will have to face off against. Disney's Dreamlight Valley likes to add villains, so this move wouldn't be surprising.
Additions from Moana 2 should come later
however, Moana 2 scheduled for release on November 27. As the film's release date approaches, so do the details Disney's Dreamlight ValleyWith the next update already announced, it seems unlikely that Gameloft and Disney will collaborate on promotion for Moana 2. It does not disqualify Moana 2 from be added to Disney's Dreamlight Valley in the future, of course. Depending on how popular the movie is with audiences, it wouldn't be surprising to see characters from the movie pop up in the Valley.
