Key conclusions
-
The developer of Stellar Blade Shift Up has confirmed that a PC version is in the works and will launch at some point in 2025.

Shift Up also stated that they believe Stellar Blade will perform “even better” than the PS5 version, pointing to the release of Black Myth: Wukong as proof.
Stellar Blade may have been one of the best PlayStation games of the year, despite not actually owning the developer Shift Up. Stellar Blade, along with Black Myth: Wukong, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Helldivers 2, helped the platform while early releases were few and far between, but Stellar Blade is in the unique position of not launching on PC, it was locked down as a PS5 exclusive.
Stellar Blade developer Shift Up previously explained that it was “looking into” making a PC port of the game at some point in the future, but now it's been revealed that the game will be coming off the PS5 chain next year. This was confirmed in the Q&A portion of Shift Up's latest earnings report (thanks Gematsu), as the company claimed that it is currently aiming to release a PC version of Stellar Blade in 2025.
Shift Up believes Stellar Blade will run better on PC than PS5
Interestingly, Shift Up also made some comments about how well they think Stellar Blade will perform on the platform, and you can tell the developer has high hopes. During the Q&A, Shift Up explained that she thinks Stellar Blade will do better on PC than PS5, pointing to the success of Black Myth: Wukong and “Steam's growing presence in the AAA gaming market”.

Eve isn't even Stellar Blade's most popular character
All this fuss about Eva when Tachi is here?
It's not an unlikely outcome either, to be honest. Helldivers 2 absolutely blew up on Steam when it released earlier this year, shattering even developer Arrowhead's expectations, while Black Myth: Wukong somehow managed to sell millions of copies in one day. Of course, Stellar Blade has the disadvantage that it is already available on another system, but we can expect it to perform well.
You'll probably also have fans of the dual-immersion game, as PC will undoubtedly provide better performance with the mods to boot. While we don't have a specific release date yet, it's something to look forward to, and the game's upcoming crossover with Nier Automata will waste some time as well. This collaboration, along with the game's trendy photo mode, will drop next week in what should be a very cool month for Stellar Blade fans.
Stellar Blade is an action game by Shift Up, originally introduced as Project Eve. It follows the aforementioned Eve as she battles the alien invaders of Naytib in an attempt to reclaim Earth for humanity.
