Episode Destiny 2: The Complete Revenant Gameplay
Setting for the episode: The Revenant game cycle
in the end Destiny 2 Episode: Revenant's gameplay largely revolves around Onslaught: Salvation and the new Tonic and Fieldwork system, which has already proven to be a divisive player. This disorder is primarily because a large part of what Destiny 2 players will do in the first act of Episode: Revenant involves a lot of menu navigation and crafting. It's not to say that there isn't much combat and gameplay, but as a rule, it's all about creating Tonics and doing Fieldwork.
After arriving in the new social space of Last City, players are introduced to Aida and her Tonic Lab. There, she researched ancient recipes and the Elixni Potion while trying to save her father, Mitrax, who is suffering from Nezarek's curse. From there, after completing the initial mission in the prologue and obtaining the Slayer Baron Apothecary Knapsack artifact, players will receive the first main story quest for Act 1 Episode: Revenant, where they will first see how tonic is brewed at Eido's Tonic table.
Episode: A game loop of Revenant's Tonics, Fieldwork, and Onslaught: Salvation
The guide then walks players through the process of making a tonic, which includes choosing a tonic, gathering the necessary ingredients, transferring those ingredients to the Eliksni machine to brew the tonic, testing its taste, and then infusing it with the power of the tonic. Light to obtain the finished product. This is a process that players must complete every time they want to create a Tonic in Episode: Revenant, so they will be repeating it many times throughout the episode. Tonics are then used to give players the chance to earn certain rewards Destiny 2 activities, and obtaining the reagents needed to craft these tonics is most easily accomplished by playing Onslaught: Salvation.
After completing the tonic brewing tutorial, players are introduced to Episode: Revenant's Fieldwork system, which is used to obtain new tonic recipes. Essentially, the Fieldwork system is a more advanced reward system that involves players completing a series of tasks to earn bags of tonic reagents and tonic upgrades. Reagents are collected from each tonic reagent bag, which can then be turned in for new tonic recipes at Eido's tonic table. The more recipes are unlocked, the higher the rarity of the recipes will become available.
This process is repeated for all types of tonics in the episode: Revenant – Flying Tonics, Onslaught Tonics, World Gear Tonics, Shadestalker Tonics, and Resource Tonics.
With all that said, Onslaught: Salvation will likely be where most players spend their time, as it's the best place to farm reagents, get new loot, and take advantage of Onslaught Tonics. This is the heart Destiny 2 Episode: A new Revenant game cycle in which players complete rounds of Onslaught: Salvation, do fieldwork, craft and use Tonics before the cycle repeats. That might change in Act 2 of Episode: Revenant, but that's where the game is right now.
