A Shonen trap waiting for a solo level
There is a common Shonen trap that Solo Leveling can fall into with the upcoming season.
The first season focused on Jin's journey from a helpless E-rank hunter to one who can stand up to the ferocious monsters of the dungeon. The second season focuses on his unstoppable rise to the pinnacle of power, Hunter Rank S. So there will be quite a few new characters in the new season. Of all of them, here are 8 characters that will be the most vivid. By the way, since this information is based on the original webcomic, there will be minor spoilers ahead. So if you prefer to only watch anime, be careful.

At the heart of the Hunters Guild is its master, Choi Jung-in. He is an S rank fire mage who specializes in large scale attacks. He will show some of his firepower in the second season, but we won't see Choi Jung-in unleash his full power. However, we will see him engaged in a hilarious bidding war with Baek Yoon over who will be the first to convince Song Jinwoo to join their guild.

Hwang Dongsoo is a Korean S-rank hunter who decided to join the famous Scavenger Guild based in the United States. This decision caused outrage among the Korean people, some of whom even called him a traitor. Hwang Dongsoo himself is a cocky man with a short temper. He knows that he is powerful and does not hesitate to threaten people with his power.
Hwang Dongsoo has a brother, Hwang Dongsuk, who was actually the same brutal man that Jinyu killed in the dungeon in the first season. The purpose of Hwang Dong-soo's appearance in the second season is to hunt down his brother's killer, Song Jin-woo.

Solo Leveling: Guilds, Explanation
Guilds are an integral part of the world of Solo Leveling. Here's how they work in more detail.
Just like Choi Jung-in, we won't see Baek Yun-ho unleash his full power in season 2. As mentioned earlier, he appears mostly as a guild master, especially in his attempt to recruit Song Jin-woo into his guild. With that being said, we get to see the power of Baek Yunho's white beast during his showdown with another S-rank hunter, Hwang Dongsu.
5
Cha Hae-In
S Hunter Rank Vice Guild Master
-
Affiliation: Hunter's Guild
-
First appearance: Chapter 65
Cha Hae In is an S-rank hunter and vice master of the Hunter Guild. Although Cha Hae-in is one of the youngest S-rank hunters in the world, he is one of the top three most powerful S-rank hunters in South Korea. There's even an argument that she's actually stronger than her guild master, Choi Jung-In. That being said, since Cha Hae In is a fighter who specializes in swordsmanship, her role is different from Choi Jung In's heavy hitters, so it's really hard to compare them.
Cha Hae In will appear around the same time as Choi Jung In. However, unlike the guild master, Cha Hae-ying is more interested in Song Jinwu as a person than as a hunter. We won't see her use her full powers in season 2, but we will get to witness Cha Hae-in take down monsters in the dungeon.

Go Ganghee is an S rank hunter and the chairman of the Korean Hunter Association. As a man already in his 80s, he is one of the oldest S rank hunters in the world. However, despite his old age, Guo Ganghi is still a fearsome man, thanks to his tall stature and wrestler-like body.
Although he is still an S rank, Go Gunhee is no longer active on the front lines. His focus is on educating and regulating the countless active hunters in South Korea. In Season 2, Go Gang Hee is one of the first people to recognize Sung Jin's power.
3
Ram and dungeon bosses
The final boss of the Demon Castle
-
Affiliation: Demon Castle
-
First appearance: Chapter 85
Most of the characters mentioned above are good guys. So it's time to talk about the villains who will surely be the highlights of the second season. So who is Jin's biggest nemesis in Season 2? The answer obviously lies in the dungeon monsters, especially the powerful dungeon bosses.

Winter 2025 brings Solo Leveling Season 2 – get ready for unprecedented action, breathtaking visuals and Jinwoo's epic growth as a hunter.

There is Vulcan, the 50th floor boss of the Demon Castle, who can move incredibly fast despite his massive body. But the most memorable enemy in season 2 has to be the Demon King Aries himself. He rides atop a menacing Wyvern and attacks Jinwu from above with his thunderous longsword. These fights will definitely be the most exciting part of Season 2.
2
Igris and the Shadow Soldiers
The first elite Shadow Knight
-
Affiliation: Monarch of Shadows
-
First appearance: Chapter 45
As the name suggests, Alignment of the solo is a story that focuses on the protagonist's solo journey to level up by challenging dungeons and defeating monsters. So the vast majority of the story will be about the main character himself, Song Jinwu. However, as we saw at the end of the first season, Song Jinwu will not face these difficult paths alone. He will fight alongside his shadow soldiers.
His first true Shadow Soldier is none other than Ygris, the Red Knight. Igris will play a much more prominent role during Jinu's increasingly dangerous dungeon dives in Season 2. Not only that, Jinu will add more reliable Shadow Soldiers to his army, such as the Iron Warrior, Tank the Mad Beast, and Tusk the fearsome wizard. Their exploits with the Shadow Monarch will surely be the highlight of Season 2.
1
Song Jinwoo
S rank 10 Korean hunter
-
Affiliation: Guild Ajin
-
First appearance: Chapter 1
As expected, the character that will shine brightest in the second season Alignment of the solo is none other than the main character himself, the would-be Korean S-rank 10th hunter Sung Jin-woo. In season 2, our hero will experience the biggest changes in his life. Not just in terms of power, but also personality and looks.
After all, as he raids dungeon after dungeon and fights terrifying monsters every day, some major changes are bound to happen. We will have a calmer, more calculated, leaner, more muscular and definitely a much deadlier version of Song Jin. In addition, we will see him fight in a variety of dungeons – in snowy mountains, in a dense tropical forest, in a city on fire, to name a few – against a variety of monsters.
In addition, there are regular activities that are sure to interest many RPG fans, such as gaining new skills, spending experience points on certain attributes, gathering ingredients to craft high-ranking items, and more.
