Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has announced a number of updates for Season 1, including a new castle map in Zombies. The upcoming season starts on November 14th and will bring tons of weapons, maps, modes and more. Black Ops 6 as Activision looks to maintain momentum from its massively successful launch. One of the most interesting and mysterious of the incoming content is the Citadelle des Morts map, which is scheduled to be released mid-season.

Citadelle des Morts isn't the only map included Black Ops 6 Season 1 update, but this is the only one that focuses on the zombie mode. This will be Zombies' third playable location — a far cry from the 16 in a regular multiplayer game, but a pretty high number for the Zombies series.

Familiar faces return to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Zombies mode, while some new ones are ready to take on the endless hordes of the undead.

Call of Dutyunveiled the map along with a host of other content on November 7th. The description of Citadelle des Morts is sparse, much of it edited to prevent spoilers and build up hype for the arena before its release. Activision revealed that its story begins after Weaver, Maya, Carver and Gray leave Terminus and follow clues to an abandoned castle in Europe. There they will find “hideous horrors”, a medieval village and something hidden, but what it is and what else awaits remains a mystery.


Big changes are coming to Black Ops 6 Zombies


The new map isn't the only update for Zombies in Season 1, either. While Citadelle des Morts won't be released until mid-season, COD fans will get a new way to experience Terminus and Liberty Falls when the season begins. Director Mode marks all the main objectives of the quest and limits the number of rounds to 15 to put more emphasis on the story. All side quests and SAM trials will also be unavailable in this mode. It can't be perfect for Black Ops 6 players hoping to form an essence, but it will help those more interested in knowledge than getting the highest score possible.

Citadelle des Morts will also add a new type of enemy that players can vaguely make out in the deliberately obscured image featured in the Season 1 trailer. Other content coming to Zombies includes 18 new additions, Perk-a-Cola, a field upgrade, an ammo mod, three flavors of GobbleGum, and several new weapons. This was announced by Microsoft earlier Black Ops 6 was the biggest COD release to date, and if these updates are any indication, it looks like Activision intends to make it even bigger.
