2024 marks the 85th anniversary of Batman's first comic book appearance, and DC is doing just about anything it can think of to celebrate. Even though we are in the final months of the year, these holidays are not over yet. Adding to all that DC has already done to celebrate Batman's 85th birthday today is a brand new Funko Pop that features one of the most unique designs ever for a Dark Knight Pop inspired by Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins..

Before Christian Bale's Batman faced off against Heath Ledger's Joker in The Dark Knight, the caped crusader had to deal with the Scarecrow. Whether it's in movies, games, or comics, Scarecrow's main tool when it comes to making Batman's life miserable is his fear toxin. Batman's appearance in Batman Begins while under the influence of this toxin is one of the most jaw-droppingly creepy depictions of the hero ever, and now that look has been made into a Funko Pop.

It wasn't Batman who saw himself like this in Batman Begins when he was exposed to the toxin, but Dr. Jonathan Crane, whose vision of Batman was warped when he was sprayed with the same fear gas he peddled. Looking at Batman more like a black skeleton than a man in a black suit, this creepy Funko Pop figure of The Dark Knight will be available exclusively on the Funko website via the link in the box below starting at 12:30 PM EST today (October 7, 2024).

The Fear Gas Batman Funko Pop is $15 and even though it's not available for purchase at the time of writing, Funko has already marked it as final sale. This usually means that there is only one wave of stock, and once that stock is gone, the Pop is gone forever. Of course, there is no guarantee that this is the case, and there is a chance that there will be more parties in the future. However, if you like this Pop and don't want to risk paying an inflated price for it via a resale site later, it might be best to pick it up while it's still available at Funko.

One of the many things DC has done to celebrate Batman's 85th anniversary, this unique and incredibly creepy Funko Pop is based on how the Dark Knight appears to Jonathan Crane after he ingests Scarecrow's fear toxin in Batman Begins.

As noted above, there has been a lot of material released this year to celebrate Batman's 85th birthday. DC has teamed up with Mattel to create a special collection of Hot Wheels Batmobiles, each featuring a tiny Batman figure, as well as a collectible set of Little People to celebrate Batman's 85th anniversary. There were also a few special Lego sets, including a toy brick depicting the Gotham skyline from Batman The Animation Series and a Lego Batmobile based on its 1960s live-action design.
