All playable characters are confirmed

The September 2024 PlayStation State of Play unveiled several new projects and updates to existing ones, including LEGO Horizon Adventures. Here, Sony released the third pre-order trailer for the upcoming LEGO game in addition to the official release date of November 14th later this year. The trailer showed that if people pre-ordered LEGO Horizon Adventures' Digital Deluxe Edition, they'll get access to Nora's roller coaster customization, Banuk armor, Shield-Weaver Outfit, and more. In addition to new cosmetic items for players and Mother's Heart, the new trailer seemingly confirmed several new playable characters that gamers can try out this holiday season.

LEGO Horizon Adventures could be a great refresher before Horizon 3

This holiday season, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch players can experience the world of Horizon in a new light with LEGO Horizon Adventures. As the fourth entry in the Horizon series, this game is intended for both newcomers and long-time fans who don't require prior knowledge of the previous titles. However, the story is expected to retell the events of Horizon Zero Dawn in LEGO's signature humorous style. With Horizon 3 still years away, LEGO Horizon Adventures offers a fun way to revisit key plot points from the original game.

The first LEGO Horizon Adventures playable characters

If LEGO Horizon Adventures was first officially announced back in June, two trailers showed off how LEGO's version of a post-apocalyptic western United States would play and who would live there. HorizonThe iconic animal-like vehicles are back in fun LEGO forms along with some Horizonmore prominent human characters and supporting characters. Of course, Aloy is back in LEGO form to be the main player avatar, but she won't be going on this escapade alone. She will be joined by her fellow tribesman Nora Varl as HorizonThe first co-op player like LEGO Horizon Adventures will be the first game in the series to feature both local and online multiplayer.

Adventure horizonHowever, the initial trailers showed more than just Aloy and Varl as playable options. Another member of Nora's tribe can join Aloy in her more playful LEGO showdown Horizon Zero Dawn: Teersa. The supreme matriarch of the Nora, Thirsa was one of the few members of the tribe who were kind to Aloy from childhood to adulthood. Along with Tirsa, players can also play as the comedic Oseram and Carja Vanguard member, Erend, in LEGO Horizon Adventures. Besides Varlo, Arend is one of Aloy's closest and most loyal friends.

More playable characters in LEGO Horizon Adventures

The very last Adventure horizon the trailer revealed some new cosmetic options for Aloy and her friends, including Ratchet and Sackboy's outfits, but it may have also confirmed a few new playable characters for the game. About halfway through the trailer, the clip shows Aloy, Varl, Tyrsa, and Arend joined by Silence in a huddle, presumably celebrating the new plan. Since four of those five have already been confirmed as playable characters, it would make sense for Silence to join the roster as the fifth member of the party, or at least someone who will be unlocked later in the game.

Silence rarely played a direct role alongside Aloy Horizon Zero Dawnbut Guerrilla Games and Studio Gobo could have easily reworked parts of Zero Dawn's story to allow players to play as Silence multiple times. Along with Silence, the trailer also featured Aloy “Alloy” along with other Aloys dressed as Ratchet, Rivet, and Sackboy. This could mean that gamers can play multiple Aloy avatars at the same time while wearing different outfits. Most of these outfits are not tied to specific characters, as Erend was seen briefly donning Ratchet's outfit in the trailer.

Potential playable characters in LEGO Horizon Adventures

For now LEGO Horizon Adventures will not be developed by TT Games, the previous main developer of the LEGO games, it may still use some of the traditional mechanics of those games in how the game's characters can be found and unlocked. In these games, several enemies and NPCs in the main campaign became available when purchased or unlocked after completing certain levels. Guerrilla and Studio Gobo may implement a similar system to allow gamers to later play as characters like Sun King Avad, Helis, Rost, and Teb, all of whom appear in Adventure horizon' various trailers. If LEGO Horizon Adventures indeed plays a bit like TT's LEGO games, with potentially every character in the game becoming playable over time.
