Here are some tips and tricks for mastering the Deva Watcher's form in Slay the Spire.

The events you encounter are completely random, and some events have their own random components to contend with, such as the Face Trader event, which has a 50/50 chance of rewarding you with a “good” or “bad” face. Below, we'll take a look at everything you need to know about the Face Trader event, including what each of the masks you can get at it does.

Event Face Trader, Explanation

Face Trader is a random event that can happen during Acts 1 and 2in which you will encounter a strange creature that wants to exchange your face.

You will be given three options which are detailed below.

  • To touch: Lose 10 percent of your maximum health, but gain 75 gold.
  • Trade: Randomly receive one of the following Mask Relics.

    • Neutral face: Cultust Headgear – Makes you feel more talkative.
    • Good face: Cleric's Face – Increase your max HP by 1 after each battle.
    • Good face: Ssserpent Head – Every time you type ? room, get 50 gold.
    • Bad face: Gremlin Visage – Start each fight with 1 weak.
    • Bad face: N'lot's Hungry Face – The next non-boss chest you open is empty.
  • Go away: Exit the event without doing anything.

Although the flavor text for the Trade option says 50 percent good face, 50 percent bad face, the actual odds 40 percent for the good face, 40 percent for the bad face, and 20 percent for the neutral face.

Should we switch faces?

This event has the potential to boost your build significantly, especially if you get it early in Act 1. The face of a cleric is a very powerful Relic the stronger the longer you have itand Sserpent Head is just as strong in the early game.

If you find a Face Trader late in Act 2, it might be better to use the Touch option and get the gold or leave it at all, since The relics of a bad face can be very harmful. In particular, Gremlin Visage can cause a failed launch like the first turn of a fight is often one of the most important.

If you don't mind save the scumyou can swap faces, see which one you'd get, and then reload a save that puts you right before a decision. If you have a bad face, you can choose to tap or leave, but if you have a good face, you can repeat the Trade option and continue.

Reloading your save does not change the result of the rollbut it may allow you to make a different decision.
