A Pokemon GO player got incredibly lucky after using incense

One was ridiculously lucky Pokemon GO player recently made a huge haul during a 15-minute daily incense walk. Pokemon collected Pokemon Go not only does the player include a set of three different shiny Pokemon, but one of them belongs to the elusive Galarian Legendary Bird Trio.

Pokemon GO first introduced Daily Adventure Incense in July 2022. The item is offered for free once per day to all players, and continues to attract additional Pokémon as long as the player continues to move for the item's 15 minute duration. Daily Adventure Incense works similarly to the standard Incense item in the game, although the original Incense lasts for an hour and does not require the player to keep moving to attract additional Pokemon.

For Reddit user DecayMHW, a recent adventure yielded an incredibly impressive profit. Of the seven Pokemon caught in the 15-minute window, three were Shinees, including Beldum and Inkai. But the third was the most impressive of all, as the player was able to draw a Shiny Galarian Articuno. Building a Galarian Bird collection at Pokemon GO is one of the most difficult challenges offered by the game because not only are they a rare find, but they are also notoriously difficult to catch, and it took this player around 60 Ultra Balls and Golden Razz Berries to add them to his collection. Shiny Galarian Birds currently only appear on the map when players use their Daily Adventure Incenses, but there's still no guarantee that they'll appear, and getting two extra Shinies in one adventure is almost unheard of.

Players envious of their newly caught Shiny Galarian Articuno can take some comfort in knowing that Pokemon Go made catching Shiny Galarian Birds a bit easier. While they appear to have the same low catch rate as their non-Shiny counterparts, the Shiny Galarian Birds introduced on October 4th do not run away from encounters, meaning players can keep trying catch them until they catch or run away from the balls.

In addition to this good news, players can bypass the low catch level at least once, as Pokemon Go players have a new Master Ball to unlock. The quest to unlock the third iteration of the Master Ball isn't free, costing $7.99, but completing it will give players the most powerful ball in the game, guaranteed to catch any Pokemon it hits. Players who want to get the Master Ball for the third time Pokemon Go will want to act fast, as they'll need to purchase and launch the game by 8:00pm local time on October 11th for the Masterwork: Master Ball research quest to load properly.
