Over the past few decades, LEGO games have taken many different forms. 1997 year LEGO Island was an incredibly ambitious open-world adventure game, LEGO Creator was an early sandbox builder, LEGO Racers was a Mario Kart clone, and LEGALLAND was a theme park tycoon simulator. But then she came LEGO Star Wars in 2005, the title that changed LEGO games forever, paving the way for what would eventually lead to LEGO Horizon Adventures.
Horizon is quickly becoming one of PlayStation's most versatile proprietary IPs, and LEGO Horizon Adventures is a great example of this. LEGO Horizon Adventures intends to make the series lighter, more family-friendly, while maintaining the series' distinct aesthetic and staying true to its history and stories. on the surface LEGO Horizon Adventures looks like a typical LEGO adventure game, but some key differences set it apart from entries like LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

At first glance, LEGO Horizon Adventures and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga both are similar to LEGO projects. Both games fall into the category of action-adventure games, aimed at a younger audience, based on core franchises with pre-existing characters, and feature LEGO's signature art style that adds toy bricks to the otherwise realistic world, creating a distinct sense of charm. But digging just one layer deeper, fans will understand this LEGO Horizon Adventures and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga they are actually two very different games.
LEGO Horizon Adventures seems to take a different approach to the usual LEGO formula
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was a bold evolution of the LEGO game formula from Traveller's Tales, taking a foundation that has been continuously created since 2005 LEGO Star Warsand is expanding in its scale exponentially. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga all nine majors are adapted Star Wars movies that deliver the same action, puzzle and platform gameplay that fans have come to expect. These missions were accompanied by more than 20 explorable planets, each filled with additional content.
LEGO Horizon Adventureson the other hand, takes a slightly different approach to the usual LEGO game formula. For now The Skywalker Saga decided to do as much as possible when it came to missions, additional content, collectibles and playable characters, LEGO Horizon Adventures seems to provide a much shorter experience. Instead of adapting nine feature films, LEGO Horizon Adventures retells the story of Horizon Zero Dawnwith plenty of its own original moments of charm thrown in for good measure. And while players will still be able to collect new outfits and structures for their hub world, LEGO Horizon Adventures probably won't contain more than 1000 collectibles to be found in all levels.
For now LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga set a new bar for larger scale licensed LEGO games, it was also criticized for having too much filler. LEGO Horizon Adventures may not offer over 80 hours of content, but it can provide a more refined and concise experience that's a little easier for fans to digest.
